MGMT 7160: Blog #4

To start this week's blog post, I will introduce a quote from chapter #4. I've been thinking of this quite a bit within the context of my own professional setting:

CFO: "What happens if we invest in developing our people and the leave us?"
CEO: "What happens if we don't, and they stay?


DPZ has developed robust training programs to fill positions in management (MIT program), operations, IT, supply chain, transportation, franchise management, and of course, pizza making. Given the franchise, light-asset business model of DPZ, rigorous training is advisable to maintain brand continuity. As stated on their website, "there is a slice for everyone" - and perhaps this investment in their people is a key ingredient in DPZ' success.
