About George

George Palton CV

George Palton is a husband, cat dad, tuba player, and BBQ enthusiast who currently resides in Waco, TX. He serves as the Assistant Dean of Enrollment and Student Success at the Baylor University School of Music. His formative years were centered around his love of the tuba, performing as a soloist and chamber musician while teaching in a variety of university and K–12 settings. This diverse range of experiences inspired his transition into higher education administration, where he is passionate about helping students realize their artistic ambitions and educational goals.

Across his career, George’s foundation as a tubist and music educator has shaped his approach to arts leadership. While his early musical journey was driven by individual excellence, his work as a leader focuses on enabling others to perform at their highest level. Whether through the pedagogical exercises featured on this website or by streamlining the admissions and enrollment process for faculty, staff, and aspiring musicians, his goal is always the same: to put others in a position to succeed.
